Term 2..What’s on

Room 6 Newsletter Term 2 2012
Dear Parents/Caregivers, Whanau and Students, welcome back.
Key Concept : SUSTAINABILITY
Core subjects- English-Mathematics-Religious Education are taught every day.
Writing – Information Reports. Daily Reading.
Addition & Subtraction- Problem Solving- Strand Measurement & Mathletics
The Holy Spirit and God Strand
Visual Art- Physical Education- Sciences-Learning Languages- ICT-Technology@Phillipstown. Music and Dance.
Homework- the students have a Diary- they are encouraged to read every evening; evidenced based research in education clearly identifies homework must be meaningful to have effect. Students who are readers are able to effectively engage with their learning across the curriculum. Any class work that is unfinished needs to be completed at home. MATHLETICS@StAnnes-. I hope you are able to allow the students to use the internet at home. I would be making sure however that they only spend up to 20minutes each evening.
The Year 8s and 7s began training last week for winter sport at Hagley. We are going on a trip to The Groynes on the 15 May; I would appreciate you returning the forms and $2 for the bus.
We welcome your presence in Room 6 anytime. If you need to make an appointment to see me; call in or phone the office.
Arohanui tatou,
Judi Parker
