DREAM AND DISCOVER -LEARNING AREA:CAREERS EDUCATION
Today we had the pleasure to welcome Mr and Mrs Scott members of our school Parish, to our class. They came to share their knowledge about their business with us. Yesterday we did some laying in of the learning prior to their visit. We learnt so much about bees today. Did you know bees have been on our planet for 65 million years..wow! This was such an interesting topic and thanks to the generosity of our guest speakers, we each got to take home a pot of beautiful organic honey. Mrs P ducked out at lunch to grab a loaf of bread so that we could each try the "specialness" of Manuka Honey, from the famed Scott Manuka City, in the forest of Hanmer. What a day, what an experience.

AND THE WINNERS are JACK AND SOLOMON WITH THEIR COOL EGG JEFFREY
The spring sun came out for the final part of our Challenge. Our "precious" cargo had to travel 5 metres in the air, and survive. It came down to just two teams. When Mrs Parker checked our materials, Ella and Meresia had used more than the allowed amount of paper straw, which meant Jack and Solomon ( and Jeffrey) won the "Drop the Goods" Challenge.
Well done to the rest of the class, you gave it your best!

For those families who have access to the internet please get busy, for families and students who have yet to get internet, come in and use the Learning Centre in the morning or afterschool. The students school wide are being taught digital citizenship. This is to give them the skills to post appropriate comments on-line. We would appreciate you taking the time to visit our blog.

We are learning to hone our skills to become great writers.
This week we are reading and writing about phenomena, this weeks topic is The Northern Lights. Keep following our blog as we post our published explanations. To build our confidence and competence in writing we are working with a buddy, we each bring different strengths to the writing task that compliment each others skill base. The outcomes.. just you wait and see!

What an amazing transformation! And a superb concert item.
Today we celebrated our Feast Day at St Annes. Each class prepared a short item. I think the Room 1 puppets were fantastic, the Poem/Song by Room 2 was very jazzy and very cool. The song from Room 4 was brilliant, and the Room 5 students sang, played the recorder with style. However, I am slightly biased when I say this, the Room 6 students performed and sang beautifully, thanks to all of the class for putting yourselves OUT THERE! arohanui kia katou MrsP.
